I'm trying to find information on Thomas T. Phillips, born July 6, 1858 in England. Father, Leonard Phillips. Thomas came to the USA in 1872. His bible has the inscription: "Presented to Thomas Phillips by Mr. Joseph Gerrard his teacher as a token of affection on the occasion of his leaving the Gilton Weslayan Sunday School for America. Sept 29th 1872". In the USA Thomas married Joanna Lott Skinner. Children were: Charles Lewis, Martha, Caroline, Robert Shuttleworth, Richard Eli, Margaret M, Alvord, John Lott, Joseph R, Westwell, William and Nelson. Thomas and family lived in the Greenville, Orange County, New York area. Thomas died in Graham, NY in February 1924 and is buried in Otisville, New York. In researching I have come across two photos that could possibly be associated with Thomas. One is of an Alice Ann Shuttleworth and the other of a Mary J. Leach. Each photo has written on the back "England". I have no idea if these people are related but the one child of Thomas and Joanna was given the middle name Shuttleworth. Does anyone have any information relating to Thomas or Leonard? Also was/is there a town in England named Gilton or was that just the name of the church? I've tried and tried to find information on Gilton but to no avail. Any information would be wonderful. Thank you.
