I am attempting to trace my paternal grandfather, b Nov 20, 1880 to Thomas Jones and Anne Murray (Coleraine, Ire.) - she worked in a linen mill in Bury, Lancashire. My grandfather was baptized at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Peter Street, Bury. He and his sisters Ellen and Agnes were orphaned and came to Canada in May 1887, without papers as Home Children through the Children's Protective Society of Liverpool, U.K. under the care of a Mrs / Miss Lacey. My grandfather stayed with the NICHOLSON family in Fermoy, Ontario until they emigrated to the US while he remained in Canada. No official documentation seems to exist in the UK. Any relevant advice or information would be greatly appreciated.
