I am researching the SMOOTHY surname, believed to have come from Cambridgeshire, Eng, more particularly Shudy Camps & Linton. Thomas SMOOTHY b/bapt 2 Jan, 1736, Shudy Camps (parents ?? Radcliff Smoothy & Martha Poulter??) m. Martha Baker 21 Oct, 1763, Linton. A son Buck SMOOTHY born before 1767, Linton, died/buried 19 May, 1835, Linton, m. Mary Wright/Right 8 Jan, 1787, Hadstock, Essex. A son John SMOOTHY b 24 Mar, 1802, Linton m. Ann Hymus/Himus (parents William Hymus & Damaris (Dinah) SMOOTHY), Saffron Walden, Essex on 24 Sept, 1835. A son, my g/g grandfather Henry SMOOTHY (b. 5 Aug, 1838 in Hadstock Essex is believed to have sailed to Aust on the "Wansfell" in 1861/62, together with a younger brother Alfred & possibly a cousin William.
Hoping to make contact with others researching same. I have some research information I am willing to compare & share.
