BOSTON ancestors sought in Kentish Town & Hackney 18-20C.
Looking for any BOSTONs in the above areas from around 1800 onwards. My Great Great Grandparents lived in Kentish Town from 1865 to the early 20th century. The 1881 census lists them at 15 Durnford Terrace, Kentish Town: Elizabeth Boston aged 41, Widow, Head, Mangler; William John Boston aged 15, Asst.Shopman; John George Boston aged 13, Scholar; Annie Elizabeth aged 8, Scholar (my Great Grandmother); Amelia Jane Boston aged 5, Scholar; Robert Frederick Boston aged 6, Scholar; Martha Mary Ann Boston aged 3; Florence Emily aged 1; Emily E.Boston aged 63, Widow, Mother-in-law.
William Boston b 1839 approx. was my Great grandfather and he died in 1880 at the University College Hospital, London. His occupation was Railway Porter.
My Great Grandmother, Annie Elizabeth Boston, gave birth to my Grandfather, Sydney Harold Boston, on the 5th March 1901 at 13 Tovey Place, Kentish Town. She was a Domestic Servant and unmarried at the time. he was adopted by the Marsh family in Marshside, Chislet, Kent and christened in the local church in June 1901. They added their surname to his and he became Sydney Harold Boston-Marsh.
