I am interested to learn about 2 old school chums from 1967-1968 who emigrated to Zambia with their mother to be with their father who worked there at that time. The children (as they were at that time ) are Christine and Eric Downs. They stayed in the late 1960's in St Vincent Street, Glasgow (between Elderslie Street and Beltane Street). We remained penpals for about 2 years but lost touch. Christine will be about 40 years old and Eric will be about 36-38 years old. We all went to Kent Road Primary School (now demolished) and I recently came across pictures of Christine and Eric taken at my 7th birthday party at 37 Dorset Street, Anderston, Glasgow in 1968.
Christine will remember the "accident" (caused by me!) which caused us to become friends and she will recall, I think, the "day out" my mother gave to us to apologise for the mishap! Only Christine (and perhaps Eric) will recall this.
I'd love to hear from them or anyone who knows of their whereabouts.
