I am trying to track down the birth and parents of my ggrandfather James CRAIG or MIDDLETON. This is how his name was entered on his marriage certificate when he married Elizabeth TAYLOR in 1913 in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. His parents were entered as Jane Craig or Middleton, widow of William Middleton, bleachfield worker (afterwards married to Neil McDonald, occupation gardener). Just to complete the picture Elizabeth's parents were Alexander TAYLOR, fisherman and Christina McLEMAN. One of the witnesses was Elizabeth H. NOBLE who is believed to be a cousin.
I have searched the 1891 Census entries on Scots Origins for Fraserburgh and Brechin (suggestion from a relative of a Brechin connection). I also have the 1881 Census CDs but cannot identify him or his parents. I would welcome anyone who has Middleton or Craig connections in the Fraserburgh area getting in touch with me
