Looking for a Family Bible and the information it may contain.
In late 1923, George BLACK, his wife Margaret (nee SCOTT), known as Maggie, and their family emigrated from GREENOCK to Australia. George was a ship's joiner who worked at Scott's Shipyard. He had been a corporal in the Renfrew and Dun(m?)barton Artillary Volunteers. He was a member of the masonic lodge, and had been the secretary of the Carpenter's and Joiners Union for many years. The family were regular worshippers at the Midkirk in Cathcart Square Greenock. Before they left they passed on the family bible to a family whose name I have been told was WILSON. They lived at 15 Lyle St GREENOCK and they had ten children. Their names were Thomas, Henry Scott (Harry), John Muir, Mary McIntyre, George, Margaret Scott, Andrew Wilson, Robert Wilson (Roy), Isabella Sarah Agnes Scott, Douglas Haig - all with the surname BLACK.
Does anyone know if that family bible is still in existence, and what information is contained within it concerning the history of the family?
