I would appreciate any information on my great grandparents, a MR & MRS HARTLEY of CO CORK, IRELAND. They were married probably between 1825 and 1840 for their daughter, HARRIET, was born in 1859(?) and she married a DAVID GILLIS, a schoolmaster in the Scottish Borders. Harriet & David had six children; BOB, MAMIE, MARGARET EVELYN, RENE, WILLIAM & DORA. Margaret was my mother and I am well informed on the Gillis branch of the family.
Mr & Mrs Hartley also had a son (Chrisian name not known) and he too ended up in Scotland (Edinburgh?) when he married BELLA (maiden name not known). Their children that I know of were WINNIE & FLORA HARTLEY. Winnie married a DR FOURIE in South Africa and they had two children, DEIRDRIE & HADLEY. Winnie and her two children returned from South Africa and Deirdrie & Hadley both attended the same school as myself (John Watson's in Edinburgh) from 1938 to 1942. Flora married a MR GREGG. They lived in Edinburgh.
It would be nice to make contact again with Deirdrie & Hadley (now in their 70s) or to receive information about them.
