In searching for my mothers family(Lougheed) we have come up against a blank wall after James Lougheed 1800-1868 who married Mary (unknown surname) and went to Canada around 1830 with two daughters and one son. some say he came from Co Sligo others Antrim and still others say he went to ireland from scotland after the plantations having backed the wrong side in a war. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
