I am looking for my husband's family. He is Hugh Gray. His father, Sam Gray (b 1906) and mother, Mary (Mamie) Donachie (b 1910) were from Port Glasgow or Greenock.
Sam's father was William Gray and his mother's maiden name was Mary Bacon. She was widowed and remarried to someone named Porter.
Mamie's father was John Donachie, and her mother's maiden name was Margaret Docherty. Margaret was also widowed and remarried, we think to a man named McAleese. They lived in 10 Argyll Street.
Mamie and Sam came to the USA in the early 1039s. They had a son William born in Scotland on March 17, 1930, who died before his second birthday. We know that Mamie also had a sister, Margaret Graham, who has a son named Hugh Graham.
We're trying to do a genealogy, and any help would be greatly appreciated!
