I am seeking information on ancestors of James Smyth and Margaret Nicoll McIntyre. Known to have two sons, Andrew and Henry Smith. Andrew was born in Newbliss Co. Monaghan, Ireland about 1802 and marreid Rachel Armstrong who was born in Ballnimallard Co. Fermanagh, Ireland about 1801. Andrew and Rachel were married December 31, 1830 in Dundee, Scotland. Andrew died December 6, 1855 and was buried in Constitutional Road Burying Ground and Rachel died July 17, 1876 and is buried at Balgay Cemetery. They had 3 children, James (my great grandfather) Margaret Smith (born January 27, 1832 in Dundee and married John Ledingham). Margaret and John had a son, Andrew Ledingham who married Susan Coupar October 24, 1870 and they had two known children, Rachel Smith and John Ledingham who married Minnie Elizabeth Cox). The elder Andrew Ledingham was killed by a fall at Tay Bridge 19th January 1877 and was buried at Eastern Necropolis.The other daughter of Andrew and Rachel Smith was Elizabeth who was born March 10, 1834 and died April 28, 1894 in St. Clement, Burgh of Dundee, Scotland. She married Robert McDonald November 16, 1859 in Dundee and they had the following children: Rachel, Margaret Ledingham, Elizabeth Smith, James Smith, and Helen Napier McDonald. I am also seeking information on Henry Smith,another son of James Smyth and Margaret Nicoll McIntyre who was born about 1814 and died April 17, 1878 and buried 19th April 1878 at Eastern Necroplis New.
