CHAPMAN - EDINBURGH I'm hoping that someone may be able to help with my family tree. My 2x great grandparents were a Henry and Eleanor CHAPMAN who lived on Home Street, Edinburgh in 1924/25. Sometime between then and 1935, Henry died, and Eleanor remarried a David OSWALD.
Henry and Eleanor only had one child I know of, a Frances Eleanor CHAPMAN (who lived at various times at Gibbs entry and Beaumont Place, Edinburgh, I also think she may have lived at Comely Bank avenue, Craigleith in the 1930s.
Her daughter was my grandmother, born at the Elsie Inglis Home at Spring Gardens in 1925, Beatrice (or Betty as she was known) returned to live in Edinburgh in the 1950s, lived at Harewood Road Craigmillar, Pennywell Grove, and St. Mary's Street, just off the High street in Edinburgh; and was known as either MADDERN/KEAST.
