I am looking for a Scotch, "Peter Hammond" who according to family lore came from a Hammond Castle in Scotland sometime before 1826. He reportedly had a daughter named Catharine in Ireland in 1826 who came to New York with a family of means when she was a little girl. Is there a Hammond Castle in Scotland? Any other information would be helpful.
