Hi My Birth Name was BRIAN JOSEPH SMYTH D.O.B. O4-02-57 In Glasow Maternity (Rottenrow)
My Birt Mothers Name was MARY SMYTH address on Birth-Certificate Meadowhead Rd, Wishaw.Although i think she was living at convent in Bishopston (Baptismal Cert from there) Last known to be in Cowcaddens area in 1958 and working as nursing auxilliary, Tried to hold on to me against familly pressure (I think Irish Immigrant familly) finally adopted as 1 year old through St Margarets.
I made contact with St margarets in Early 1980's but no luck in getting any further infomation. gave up for about 18 years and started looking again about 2 years ago.
I was told a strange story; A young girl had called in at St Margarets sometime in 1980's looking for Birth-Mother Mary Smyth, This girl had also been adopted, i can only assume at a later date through some other adoption society and was looking for any info, Unfortunately St. Margarets didnt divulge any of my info to her and they also failed to take any details from her. I can only assume that this girl will be my sister and is possibly in ignorance about my existance.
I would appreciate any contact from anyone who has any info that might help me or any suggestions as to how i can further my search.
