Brief particulars of my Great Grandfather David Ogilvy;
David Ogilvy born Edinburgh 14 th January 1804, came to Sydney Australia December 1839, He was a writer to the Signet in Edinburgh 1832, Solicitor for NSW 1840, Practising at Port Philip (Melbourne) May 1840. Elder Scots Church 1840, married Elizabeth Aitchison Willaimson Heidelberg Vicoria Australia 8th September 1841, Secretary Port Philip Theological Education Society 3/12/1841, Member Denominational School Board 1848, Co founder Scots College 1851, First President of the Law Institute of Victoria, Committee member Victorian Horticulture Society 1850, Member Board Examiner for Attorneys 1854-6,, Retired 1863 and visited Scotland . returned 1864, left again 1870, Shipwrecked at Cape Agulhas (South Africa),,remained at the Cape for a month suffering great hardship and when he succeeded in booking his passage to London, was very ill and he died Edinburgh 17/7/1871, buried Warruston Cemetery REQUIRE HELP ON HIS Father David Ogilvy (My Great Great Grandfather)and his wife Catharina SPENCE they were married 2nd July 1801 Edinburgh Parish Scotland, and is shown in "Family Search", but no details of parents. Any help would be appreciated.
