JOHN IRVING: John Irving, born about 1760, was tried at Lincoln Castle, Lincoln and sentenced to 7 years transportation to Australia. He had some medical knowledge as he assisted the surgeons during the voyage and again in Australia. He was sent to Norfolk Island as assistant to the surgeon and on return to Sydney was posted to Parramatta. He was the first convict to be emancipated. He died in 1795.
Is there anyone out there who has knowledge of this JOHN IRVING as I would be very greatfull if some one could help.
