I am a descendant of William Kerr (b.1801) and his spouse Mary Craig (b.1801). I believe William was a son of John Kerr, from either Dundee or Glasgow, but I have no record to show this. These are the ancestors of my grandfather. Those of my Grandmother were, John Reid (b.1778) and Mary Guthrie (b.1792), and were both born in Forfarshire, Scotland. My grandparents tied the Kerr and Reid families together in Canada. I had a brother named Reid Kerr who passed away just before Christmas, and I have recently come across the Reid Kerr College in Renfrew. Could it be the my ancestors were also linked in Scotland, and the founder of this college, be named in the same manner as my brother.
I am willing to provide any info that I have about the descendants of these people. I also have a list of the people buried at the Quarentine station in the S. Lawrence if you thing that any of your relatives may have died there. Drop me a line.
Donald Kerr
