Seeking Ancestral information on the following:
BURNS - Robert (born 1815)possibly Annan, Dumfries
(parents currently unknown)
Married: Johanna (also called Joan and Anne)TELFORD/TELFER
Born: 9th May, 1812, Kirkpatrick,Juxta, Dumfries
Date of Marriage to Robert Burns: 23 November, 1836
Place: Jedburgh, Roxburgh, Scotland (family Presbyterians).
Parents: William TELFORD and Jean nee LAIDLAW
of Jedburgh, Roxburgh.
Miscellaneous:
Robert Burns and Johanna Telford sailed from London on Free Passage aboard the 'Platina' on 25/9/1838. Their first child, Joseph Burns, died aged 18 months at Sea.
They settled at Chain of Ponds South Australia and had 9 children. One of the children was named John Byers Burns which suggests the family were linked to a Byers' family, probably from the same area of Jedburgh.
