I am trying to find any information on my McKie family.My Grandfather was Thomas Parker McKie who married Ellen Jane McGraw on 8th September 1903 at Lochnaw, Leswalt in the county of Wigtown, Scotland. He was 22 and she was 18 when they married.Thomas was a ploughman and Ellen was a Domestic Servant. Their usual address was Meikle Tarbrax, Leswalt.They had 10 children, one of which was my father William Parker McKie who came to Australia about 1925 an died here in 1988 aged 83 years.I would like any information about Thomas Parker McKie's parents if anyone knows of anything. His father was Thomas McKie who was also a ploughman and his mother was Helen Parker. Also any information about Ellen Jane McGraws parents, Andrew McGraw, Ploughman and Agnes McKillop.From what I have been told the McKie's have always been in the Wigtown, Kirkudbright area.
Some of Thomas Parker McKie's children were born at Auchneale farm,Leswalt and some at Kilintrington farm, Por Patrick. I think both the Thomas McKie's are buried at Kirkudbright. Any information would be appreciated.Thanks and hope to hear from some of you.Bill.
