Researching Geddes/Murray history in Scotland. My Great, Grandfather married a lady with the surname, Murray. His occupation we believe was a gardener. They had 3 children: Agnus (Adam), John and Margaret. My Grandfather, born Jan. 12, 1862, came to the U.S. in 1880/01. We think his name was Agnus Adam Geddes, but changed it to Adam when he came to U.S. His brother, John Geddes and sister Margaret remained in Scotland. John Geddes owned a green/house nursery on the Isle of Butte, Rothsay. He had two daughters, Jeannie who attended the Royal Infirmary in Glosglow, she might have married Arthur Evans and they had a child, John Geddes, Jr.(I have a photo taken in 1927), also 1 son. I have John's obituary without a date. He owned Springfield Nurseries, High Street, Rothsay, belonged to the George Stephenson lodge of the Good Templars, member of the Session of the Parish Church. My grandfather's, sister Margaret, had 2 sons, Andrew and ?. My Grandfather, Adam (Agnus) was with the Queen's Own Highlanders. He married Kate Harris from London, England. They had 4 boys, John, Robert, Thomas William (my faher),and Edward Dwight. My Grandfather and Grandmother settled in the Pacific N.W., mainly Olympia and the family home in Tacoma, Wasington, he was in the construction business. Any help regarding my Grandfather's family in Scotland would be appreciated. I can supply all the information regarding U.S. relatives. Dorothy Geddes Ison
