I am looking for information on Alexander McCartney 1688 - 1775(?). Was buried in Strathaven. Had a sister named Janett. Daughter named Janet no children. Son named Thomas born around 1745 d-1820 married 2 times Elizabeth Schuyler around 1780 they had 3 sons 1st died no heirs 2nd unknown 3rd John McCartney 1774-1859or 62 in 1815 moved to Heathermore married Grace Wilson in 1857or 1860 had nine children. The men in the family were weavers for several generations. Family was originally from Glencoe if anyone has any information I would greatley appreciate it.
