21, 1801 (unconfirmed), in Sutherland, Scotland. Their first child John Gordon McKenzie was born in Clyne, Sutherland, on September 6, 1802, and christened in Scotry, Clyne, Sutherland, on September 16, 1802. The family
lived in Kintradwell, Parish of Clyne, Sutherland, Scotland, before emigrating to Nova Scotia in 1803. Nine more children were born in Pictou County, Nova Scotia, Canada. William McKenzie had a sister Ann McKenzie who married a William Sutherland, both of Clyne.
