I am looking for any information on my Johnston ancestors who
lived in Pettinain parish, Lanarkshire Scotland. The parents were
David Johnston who married Rachel Jameson. Chlidren inlcuded
William, Robert, Anne, Christine, and Alexander (who I am descended from).
David and Rachel met in Glasgow where they were married. David worked as a Ostler.
David then became a farmer in Pettinain parish.
(possibly at a place called Grange)
Alexander was born August 1858 (Pettinain), married Mary Dixon in 1870s (?)
and shifted to New Zealand (arrived 25 Dec. 1880 aboard
clipper Nelson of Albion Shipping Company in Dunedin
from Glasgow)
