Have located children of James Haddow m. Janet Walker 09 Dec 1838:
- Margaret b.Mar 1840, Lesmahagow, Lanarkshire
- Janet b.14 Jun 1846, do.
- Grace Walker b.Jul 1849, Kirkliston, W.Lothian
- Alexander Walker b.07 Mar 1855
My ggfr. Thomas J.(James?) b.16 Mar 1844 has not surfaced yet.
I presume he was born in Lesmahagow; I know that he apprenticed as
a gardener, and emigrated (?before 1865?) when his employer relocated
to South Carolina, USA. He later worked for a relative of that
employer who moved to Buffalo, New York, and then moved to Toronto
Ontario, Canada in 1876 where he married and my gfr.was born. In 1878
they moved to Simcoe, Ontario. I would appreciate any information I
could get on his parents, his apprenticeship, and his departure. TIA.
