McEwan - I am researching family history; just now I am working on my GGGGrandfather an Archibald McEwan, born in Glasgow circa 1815 and was by trade a muslin manufacturer. He was married to a Janet Logan. Their son Alexander (siblings as yet not found) Clacher McEwan, born 1840 was married in 1864 to one Margaret McNicol Robb (first marriage) He was married again in 1889 to Elizabeth Graham (previously Wilson). One of their children was my Grandfather Douglas, his son Douglas was my father, I also have a son named Douglas Glen. Any information or inquiries would be welcomed. All the folk from my research thus far are Glaswegians - I am not sure about the previous generations, family talk seems to think that the family was 'planted' in Ireland in the 17th century and returned sometime in the late 18th century.
