JOHN IRVING c1760 - 1795 John Irving, alias Anderson, alias Law was convicted at Lincoln Castle in March 1784 and transported for 7 years to Australia. He had some medical training which was put to use during the voyage of the First Fleet and also in Australia and on Norfolk Island. He was the first convict to be amancipated. I am seeking any information, particularly prior to his conviction, and hope that there is someone out there who can offer any guidance. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in anticipation, Barry Hickman.
