Looking for other descendants of James Reid 1853-1892. Born in Barony, Lanark, died at Bathgate, West Lothian, March 28, 1892 of extreme exposure to cold for some hours, leaving a widow, Jane Shearer Taylor Reid and thirteen children behind, one of which was Alexander Reid, then eight years of age, my great grandfather, who at fourty three, emigrated to Canada with one brother, Robert. James Reid was one of six children of John Reid and Jane Gilmour. Their names were, in order of the year of their baptisms, John 1839, Helen 1843, William 1845, Colin 1847, Jessie 1849, and James 1853. Both James and his father John, were listed on documents as Joiners.
