McGalliard/McTaggart/Southerland: I'm looking for any information on McGalliards. A gggggrandfather, John McGalliard was said to have come from Antrim Co., Ireland in 1750, but that he had lived in Scotland, as well as his parents. McGalliard showed up in the Encyclopedia of Scottish surnames and sept names for the clans of Skene and Ogilvy.
Also I'm looking for information on John McTaggart and his daughter Jennet McTaggart of the 1700's. They were from Scotland and Ireland also and moved to North Carolina in the U.S.
I would also like information on Alexander Southerland,born circa 1620, in Elgin Moray, Scotland. His wife is unknown to me, but four children were listed: Daniel Southerland, b. 1673; George Southerland; John Southerland; and William Southerland. The Word Tree listed Alexander's parents as Rot Sutherland and Elspet Haly. Any information on these people would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
