MACDONALD...Hi from across the big pond! I know MacDonald's are a dime a dozen over there!!! And since I have very little knowledge of Scotland, I'll give you my MacDonald's on this side and maybe someone there is looking for my ancestors & we'll both luck out!!!
I have a John MacDonald who came from the Isle Of Uist to P.E.I. with his wife. Sounds like she died there and he and the children came to West Lake Ainslie, Cape Breton , Nova Scotia abt. 1814. His son , John wed a Catherine MacDougall, whose family were from Moidart Sct.I have the line from their son , John.
My other MacDonald's are even more vague...Also a John MacDonald , b. in Cape Breton, and wed a Mary McInnes most probably born there too. John's father was from Sct...Don't laugh at me now!!! I know there must have been a zillion John MacDonald's...but you never know if you don't ask..right?
