We are looking for help finding information on my husband's
gg grandparents. John Kirkwood b. ca 1805 and Margaret Rowan b.ca 1808. Until we found the 1851 census record for Rutherglen, the only child we knew was Mary, who is our direct line. We now know that they had 7 other children, Margaret, William, James, Jane, Janet, Elizabeth and Agnes.
All were born in Rutherglen,according to the census.
We would love to know if there are any living relatives still in Rutherglen. Or if anyone could help us with information on the parents of John and Margaret we would greatly appreciate any help offered. We will be in Scotland the first two weeks of September and would love to visit family areas.
