I am still looking for info on William Henderson born circa 1837 in Stranraer. He married Dorcas McKie (some listings say McKay, but her parents spelled it McKie)I cannot find anything on him. I have a list of his children, but for him it looks as if he just hatched right there. I know he was a farmer. It seems they moved around the bay alot, Kirkcolm, Leswalt, Stranraer, Inch, and back and forth. Also one son was a railway porter. Would anyone know what railroad? This would be about 1881 or so states the census from Culhorn. Sons are Wallace, John, James, Edward (who died at age 12) and daughter Ann or Annie Matilda. Also supposedly Wallace married twice- once to my great grandmother in Canada in 1893 and once in 1883 to a Elizabeth Browne. Recently my mother told me she remembers that he had a son named William prior to his second marriage with him in Canada and that the mother died in childbirth. Info on her would be helpful as well. I dream of being able to visit Scotland and search in person, however, that is not in the immediate lifetime I think, so any suggestions would be appreciated.
