Looking for where in Scotland my ANGUS MCDONALD came. Born c1755; emigrated to South Carolina c1790 with son HUGH (born 6 Sep 1779 in Scotland); lived in North Carolina c1795-1812; son JOHN born NC 6 Jan 1799 and son ANGUS JR. born NC c1800; moved to Mobile, Alabama and then to southern Mississippi in 1820s; died probably in MS c1827. Do not know name of wife. I have suspicions that my MCDONALD family was originally from the Highlands/Islands but cannot find where. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
