I am trying to find out in which county my ancester William Maughlin was born in 1738 (no date) in Scotland and his parents' names, if at all possible. He emigrated to America in 1750, settling in York County, PA in a town called Airville. He was a Covenanter, and was married by the Reverend John Cutherbertson (also a Covenanter) on 25 November, 1767 to Martha Reid, daughter of John Reid (or Reed). He was 12 years old when he emigrated, and there is no mention of parents. He may have been an indentured servant. He fought in the American Revolution under John Reid and married Reid's daughter.
