Information on Margaret Shanks, my grandmother, born in Coatbridge 1850's (?). Married to John Lamont, 1875 in Bruce county, Ontario. Became mother of eight children - four boys, Duncan, David, Herbert (Jack) and Neil, four girls Elizabeth, Mary, Jean and Ellen. She was predeceased by two of her daughter who died with TB. Margaret Shanks Lamont also died of TB in 1900 in Santa Fe, New Mexico where her husband John Lamont had taken her and the family in the hope that the south western climate would be beneficial.
I have a lot of info on the Duncan Lamont family who immigrated to Canada in 1821, but very little on my grandmother beyond her birthplace in Coatbridge and her marriage and family in Port Elgin, Bruce county Ontario. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Barbara
