I am looking for information on the parentage or siblings of Duncan McKeller Whyte born in Greenock, Renfrewshire, Scotland on August 27, 1827-28. He married Janet Allan b. March 20, 1827 in Elderslie. They were married in Paisley.
Janet Allan's mother was Catherine MacDonald and her father was Thomas Allan. I believe that Thomas was a Weaver. Her 3 siblings were John Allan b. 1824 in Slates, Thomas Allan, Jr., b. 1829 in Elderslie, and Isobel Allan b. in Elderslie. All four children were christened in Abbey (Paisley) Renfrew, Scotland.
Duncan McKeller Whyte and Janet Allan Whyte had 10 children.

Duncan McKeller Whyte, Jr. b. 1850 in Paisley
Thomas Whyte b. 1851 in Paisley---died 1853 in Paisley
Margaret Isabella Whyte b. 1854 in Paisley --died in Paisley
John McDonald whyte b. 1855 in Bonhill, Dumbartonshire
William Wallace Whyte b. 1857 in Hutchensontown, Glasgow, Lanarkshire
George Washington Whyte b. 1859 in Ayr, Ayrshire
Joseph Garibaldi Whyte b. 1859 in Ayr, Ayrshire --died 1865 in Ayrshire
Angus McDonald Whyte b. 1863 in Ayr, Ayrshire
Samuel Watson Whyte b. 1868 in St. Louis, MO USA --died 1869 in St. Louis.
I have information on most of the descendants, but I need information regarding Duncan's lineage or siblings. There are also family stories about one of Duncan's brothers being the James Whyte in "Whyte & Mackay" Scotch.
Any information would be appreciated.
