I have been searching for many years for my elusive great great grandfather, Robert Stevenson (perhaps also known as Steinson) a blacksmith from Croft of Dipple, Speymouth, Moray. He fathered my great grandmother, there is a Court of Session decree which confirms this, but I cannot trace him before or after this event. There are no birth, death or census records of him, at least which I have found, but they must be somewhere.

The story, as far as I know it, is:
Margaret Williamson (or Bremner) (born 1833; died ?) had an illigitimate child by Robert Stevenson (born ?; died ?) in 1862.
She was described as a domestic servant in 1862 and as a pauper in the 1891 census
She was living at Charlotte Street, Fochabers, Bellie, at the 1891 census

Robert Stevenson was described as a blacksmith, Croft of Dipple, Speymouth in the Decree of Paternity granted by the Court of Session, in Edinburgh on 25.01.1863 to establish the paternity of the child.

This child
Margaret Williamson (or Stevenson) (born 29.04.1862; died ?) had a illigitimate child by an unknown father in 1883.
She was described as a domestic servant in 1883.

The child of Margaret Williamson (or Stevenson) was my grandfather and was brought up by his grandmother Margaret Williamson (or Bremner) at Charlotte Street, Fochabers, Bellie.

Does anyone have a connection or a suggestion - from anywhere?
