Agnes Neil Baillie is my maternal Grandmother her family history lies in Stirling , it has been said they lived under the walls on Stirling Castle. I also have family names of Cherry, Shaw,Browne,someone has mentioned the Clan Ranald MacDonald from the Hebrides also something to do with the Duke of Argyle. I'm not sure how all this ties up. Browne is my Mother's Father's name,they were from Halvergate in Norlfolk, his parents immigrated to New Zealand in the 1860's he was Percy Browne ,Mother Elizabeth Pook ,Father Edward Fanshawe Browne, I'm told his familybackground prior to Norfolk lies in Scotland. Baillie,Shaw ,Cherry and the others are from Nanny Browne.
I have a very old Stirling Silver Sword Kilt pin from my mothers family. I would love to find out more.
I will be visiting Halvergate in August.
