looking for parents of gggg-gf john bedford brodie who came to south carolina around 1750-1760 w/ brother or cousin alexander brodie. john was a furniture/cabinet maker & bought 600 acres land in berkely co. south carolina in 1773. he had sons charles sanford brodie, joseph, samuel & james. charles sanford went to tennesse, joseph went to pennsylvania, james & samuel were ship builders, probably in charleston, south carolina. I don't know what part of scotland he came from, but would like to find family in scotland if there are any, & trace back my family tree. thanks.
