I am looking for any information on James Whyte b 1851 somewhere in Scotland. He came to the U.S. where he met Mary Ann Collins and they were married in January of 1877 in Emmet County in Michigan. They lived in Boyne Falls and had a child Bertha born May 26,1877.They were married a short while only when he left and as I was told was on his way to Canada.I do not know if he remarried, had more children or where he may have died. I know his occupation was a mitter. Bertha Whyte was my ggrandmother, and I never got a chance to meet her. She was my wonderful late grandfathers mother and the daughter of James Whyte whom would have been my grandpas grandpa.When my grandpa was alive he searched hard for James Whyte's whereabouts to no avail. I would like so much to find the missing links.
