MACLEOD / MACLEAY
Looking for information on my great grandparents Alexander MacLeod and Mary MacLeay married February 9, 1865 and had 4 sons Alexander, John(Jack), Donald, Norman and 2 daughters Isabella (Bella) and Margaret (Peggy) all from Ullapool, Ross and Cromarty, Scotland. Jack went to Venezala, Donald and Alexander went to South Africa. Isabella married Donald M. Morrison in Inverness, Scotland. Norman went to Canada and married Mary Ellen Ottawa Pearse (my grandparents) Not much info to go on but would like to fill in the blanks for all. Great Grandfather Alexander apparently left his family for some reason after Norman (my grandfather) was born about 1878 and never contacted the family again. Could have been a seafaring man?? My grandfather refused to speak of him. On have some more info on each of them but not much to go on. Thanks for all help.
