searching for connections Rev. Alexander Hume of manchester UK. methodist clergyman of high repute, married daughter of Captain Jones of Beaumaris and Anglesea. metodist church of Bedford and manchester. Also involved in mission in India. Son henry Hume, came to Australia in 1800"s, and he was born 1840 atRatley Yorkshire 25th July. Lived at Glencoe, in the districts of Beerwah and Peachester, and died 15th may 1914. he came to Australia on steamer Great Britain and married in Sydney Ellen francis daughter ofThomas Court esquire of Wendsbury Stafford England. His father Rev. alexander Hume of manchester died in 1876. Mrs Shirley Horton of Queensland has asked me to assist her in her research. Rev. Alexander Hume of Manchester, would no Doubt be linked with the Humes Of Dunbar Scotland. we have old family trees dating back 1000 years, but it is difficult to link where this gentleman descends from. i am collateral Desendant of Hamilton hume the explorer in nsw, and who made the great overland journey from Appin to Port Philip in Victoria. Australia. we descend from the Humes of polwarth and marchmont, and being so many branches to ireland, Uk, usa, new zealand, australia line is ours, so therefore it is difficult to know where this gentleman links in.
