this is for England--I am posting for the name Somerton, Sommerton, Summerton? Margaretta Somerton/Sommerton. The story goes that an older sister brought she and her mother to Canada after their father died. Margaretta married Alfred Hoback and had several children only two lived to adulthood. The names of her Children are Georgiana, Anna Laura, Charles and Emma. I have been online and all of these names are connected with the name Sommerton in England. Not knowing where the children are in the line that died I can't really go on naming patterns but maybe someone knows a family that moved to Canada with some of these names. Margaretta was born in 1833, I don't know when her sister was born but she married and died of TB and her twins died at birth. The name Mary is also connected because she wrote to someone in England named Mary. Story was that Margaretta's mother was at St. James Court and married beneith station and was expelled from Court and became one of the Queens seamstress's. Anyone have any answers for me? Kaye at cehaughee@aol.com The two children that lived to adulthood were Charles and Anna Laura who is my husbands great grandmother. Alfred was a carpenter and built church steeples all over the US and some in Canada.
