Looking for birth records for CHRISTOPHER GAVENLOCK (its probably recorded under one of the many alternative spellings) who was born in Scotland around 1800. Christopher was an aqpprentice shoemaker in Dalkeith, who was sentenced to 14 years hard labour in Australia aged 17 years. As he was sentenced in Edinburgh, I haven't yet found out what he did. He went on to marry the lovely Irish lassie, Frances HAWKINS - I have birth death marriage and criminal convictions for Frances. He had sons Francis and Christopher John, if that helps. Also looking for history of James Thomas HAWES, born 21 August 1850 and married to Jane DYSON, whom I know nothing about.
