am searching for sgt.williams(raf airgunner ww2)or anyone that knew of him.he was the reargunner in the crew of P/o nanton 38 sqdn wellington torpedo bomber sqdn middle east air forces,that failed to return from operations against enemy shipping in the agean sea on 4th nov 1942.have established from war graves commission that P/o nanton is listed on panel(for airmen with no known grave)in military cemetery at el alemain,egypt,as having died on that date age 24.there is no record of the other crew members on this memorial panel,so possible they survived the incident in which the aircraft was lost,perhaps as pow's.i joined the crew of P/o nanton as front gunner at otu at hampstead norris,berkshire,and after completing our training together we flew a new wellington to egypt on 29 th july 42.on arrival we were posted to 38 sqdn,where i was transferred to another crew.apart from myself,our navigator was a sgt barry(south african)and sgt williams who was welsh,and whose first name i can't recall,we always knew him as "dai" any information wil be gratefully received,thank you,nobby
