I am searching for a Thomas J. Thomas b. Feb. 27, 1853 in south Wales. Supposed to be one of 14 children. His parents names were John & Mary Thomas, found on a small piece of paper in my mother-in-laws belongings. Thomas was married to a Jane Smith in Wales. They came to United States in about 1879. I later find them in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania. Thomas was a Coal mine boss. On the 1880 census in PA., Thomas was 27, Jane-26 daughters Ellen-5 & Mary-1 and son John 3/12 Feb. born Pennsylvania, all the rest were born in Wales. Thomas's death record dated November 27, 1918 and states he was born in England. From PA. they went to Southern Indiana, settling first in Shelburn, Sullivan Co., IN and later Thomas & Jane died in Bicknell, Knox Co., IN.. I am not sure where they came from in Wales, I have a copy of a christmas card mail in 1913 from a Nano Thomas at 50 Sowth Street, Ypyshir. and a couple picture post cards from O.N. Green & Co Art Photographers, Ystrad Rhondda, South Wales and another one from
The Forget-Me-Not-Studio, Cemetery Rd. Trealaw Dinas. This is all the info that I have on them from Wales. I have the family info from this country and in Indiana. I would appreciate any info on this family. No records were ever keep by the family, that can be found.
