DAVIES: seeking additional info on Daniel F. DAVIES. From family bible, born 4 Jan, 1829, died 5 Mar, 1864. From marriage record, married Harriet E. WATKINS, New Richmond, Clermont Co., OH on 14 Mar, 1853. From 1860 US census, living in Rensselaer, Jasper Co., Ind and was a printer & editor and was born in Wales. From 1885 History of Jasper, Newton, and Benton Counties, Indiana, in 1861 he started the newspaper "The Gazette" and in 1862he was elected sheriff of Jasper County. From tombstones, death records & obituaries, he & Harriet had 5 children: William Herrick DAVIES,14 Jan, 1854 to 29 Sept, 1859; Mary Rozelle DAVIES, 28 Feb, 1857 to 30 Aug, 1857; Edgar Watkins DAVIES, 3 Mar, 1858 to 5 Oct, 1916: Abbie May DAVIES, 8 Apr, 1860 to 27 Oct, 1932; and John F. DAVIES, 5 Sept, 1863 to ?. According to family legend, his parents were John & Mary DAVIES & were both born in Wales. I have authentification where mentioned, also have some:wills, probates, deeds, letters, obituaries, and pictures or deguerreotypes of most that I would share.
