Both of my Grandparents on my paternal side migrated from Ireland, possibly around 1880. His name was Sylvester Dowling, County unknown, possibly Wicklow. I have prayer card listing his death date as May 15, 1911. In NYC area, may have been buried in state of NJ, USA. My Grandmother's maiden name was Mary Lawlor, I have obit notice, listing hear as native of Marysborough, also prayer card for her sister Julia O'Connor (nee Lawlor)August 11, 1944, in NYC area, USA.
All searches to date have been fruitless, any help appreciated. According to memories, grandmohers family had property call either O'Lawler's Mill or Lawler's Mill, location unknown. Since he passed on well before her she may have worked as a house keeper for the Mayor of NYC at sometime.
