HODGENS. Thomas Hodgens, Jr., was the sone of Thomas Hodgens and Ann Eskildson, whose marriage is in the records of St. Marks, Dublin, 1793 marriage lic. He married Ann Walker 1827 in the Rathfarnham Parish church, co. Dublin, 1827. Ann Walker was the daughter of Henry Walker, Dame Street, Dublin, a lottery house keeper, and Anne Williamson, who later married Patrick Joseph Blake. Ann Walker inherited 1/3 of the large estate of Thomas Walker, the proprietor of Walker's Hibernian Magazine, and a piratical book publisher. I would like to correspond with descendants of Thomas and Ann (Walkere) Hodgens. In 1834, Mrs. Hodgens eloped with Dr. Anthony Patrick Mahon, and they had a child, Penelope Georgiana Mahon; they lived in London, mosly in Portman Square. I would like to find Penelope's further history. I am descended from Ann Walker's sister, Elizasbeth Walker, who married first Henry William Eskildson, and who married second Mr. Duff. Please write: Louis D. Melnick, 530 Michigan Ave., Evanston, Illinois 60202-3033, or eMail.
