Board Name: Ireland
Thomas Owen Moneypenny Akron, Oh USA Sep 15, 2000
Searching for any info on the family name (Moneypenny). I am sixth generation from immigrating family. William Moneypenny and Mary Jane Kenney. Immigrated from Macquiresbridge, County Fermanagh. Northern Ireland. There was a Thomas Moneypenny, laird of Kinkell, Fife, Scotland, applied for and was granted 1,000 acres in County Fermanagh Northern Ireland in 1610. He sold his interests in 1625 and returned to Scotland. Four of Thomas's nephews follwed their uncle to Ireland and remained. They were James, Arthur, Henry, and Andrew. It is believed that all Moneypenny's in Ireland and thus all in the United States descend from these four brothers. If anyone can help or would know of a Moneypenny I could correspond with it would be deeply appreciated. E Mail: Tommnypny@aol.com
