SEEKING THE WHEREABOUTS OF GEORGE JAMES DAY £200 REWARD OFFERED FOR INFORMATION LEADING TO FINDING HIM GEORGE JAMES DAY born 4th October 1937 father also George James, mother Gladys May nee James.
Lived at Edbrooke Road Paddington London W9. During second world war evacuated with two sisters to Suffolk.
Sent away to school in Ashford? From there joined the 2nd Royal Tank Regiment,worked in Quartermasters Stores stationed at Catterick, Tidworth, County Tyrone, Lulworth etc. Became corporal and then sargeant and was discharged from H.M. Forces on 10/02/1966. Believed to have lived in Blenheim Road Walthamstow in 1977 and was a partner in Debt Recovery Agency called FCA in the Lea Green or Woolwich area of SE London during the 1970's. Believed to have worked at establishment in Essex called "The Half Way House" about 1982-3. Worked as chef. At some time ran club (next door to Marks & Spencers) at Southend on Sea. Around this time lived at Carlton Avenue Prittlewell Essex and Stanley Road, Southend on Sea and Kensington Road Sothend on Sea.
It is thought that during the later 1980's he ran a Pub (on a corner) in the London Borough of Islington. After he left there he is said to have moved to Weymouth in Dorset and become a manager of a Restaurant, leaving there in 1989. It was reported that he was seen in the Camden Town Area of London about 1997. He is about 5ft 8ins tall, slim and of dark complexion. He is always smartly dressed often wearing a suit. He sometimes has a moustache. He does not drive but frequently uses taxis/mini cabs. He is known to frequent Casinos and used to bet on the greyhound racing.
HE WAS LAST SEEN IN ESSEX AS RECENTLY AS AUGUST 1999 AND IT IS BELIEVED THAT HE IS STILL WORKING IN CATERING EITHER IN A PUB, RESTAURANT, CLUB OR CASINO. He has not been in contact with his family since 1963. There is urgent family news.
